Tampere is located in the southern part of Finland between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi, approximately 160 km north from Helsinki. It is the most populous inland city from all the Nordic countries, it has a growing population of 313,058 on an area of 4,977 km2, therefore Tampere is the second-largest urban area in Finland.
Tampere is the center of the Finnish industry which has given it the nick name “Manchester of Finland” or Manse in Finnish. Tampere was known in the past for its textile and metal industries, but these have been mostly replaced by IT and telecommunications during the 90s.
Tampere is also known for its active cultural life, every march, the International Short Film Festival is held in the city. It has been the inspiration for many important and brilliant Finnish writers and artists and also the home of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and “Manserock” (term for rock music with Finnish lyrics).
Nowadays the city also has an active electronic music scene, notably in the genres of electro and drum and bass. Tampere has been called the “jungle capital” of Finland.
Tampere is a unique Nordic industrial city with a wide variety of activities to do all year around, excellent restaurants and plenty interesting sites to visit. A nonstop growing musical city with bright lights and all the spirit of an upcoming cosmopolitan city.
Tampere is connected about 160 km from Helsinki whit highway number 3. Road is in great condition and safe to ride. There is also train and bus connection from Helsinki. The nearest airport is Tampere-Pirkkala where operates for example Ryanair.

- Särkänniemi amusement park
A really unique Finnish amusement park opened in 1975. You will find a Planetarium, Aquarium and exciting mechanical games for all ages. Tampere’s Observation Tower (Näsinneula) with its beautiful gourmet restaurant with the best panoramic views, plenty food spots and plenty other options.
